Product FAQs

Q: What are probiotics?
A: Probiotics are living micro-organisms that can provide multiple health benefits associated with the intestines, bowel, urogenital area and immune system.

Q: How often should I consume probiotics?
A: Probiotics are considered transient bacteria and will usually disappear when not consumed regularly. If dietary intake is inadequate, daily consumption of probiotics is recommended to maintain a healthy intestinal environment.

Q: I bought a product from a pharmacy but the lid label looks different from the one that I have at home. Is it a genuine Life-Space product?
A: From time to time the Life-Space probiotics may be updated resulting in minor formulation changes and labelling. This results in variations in products available to purchase as the former product is sold through. If you are unsure if your Life-Space product is genuine please check with your pharmacist.

* Please refer to Authenticity for further queries.

Q: Are probiotics suitable for babies and young children?
A:Probiotics can be consumed at all ages. The intestinal microflora of a baby begins to develop rapidly after birth. Probiotics can be taken alongside breastfeeding or formula feeding to support the maintenance of a baby’s intestinal microflora. Probiotics can also help continue to support the beneficial bacteria and microbiome throughout childhood.

Q: How soon will I experience health benefits from taking probiotics?
A: The amount of time it takes to experience benefits from probiotic supplementation may vary with each individual and depends on their current health status.
Everyone is different, so the time at which benefits may be noticed can vary within a population, however if you have any concerns or if you have symptoms that worsen or persist, make sure to consult your health care practitioner.

Q: What are the benefits of taking probiotics when taking antibiotics?
A: Taking a probiotic supplement during or after antibiotic therapy may help to maintain healthy levels of beneficial bacteria that may have been disrupted by antibiotics. We recommend probiotics be taken at least two hours before or after antibiotic consumption.

Q: Does Life-Space offer probiotics to take during the perinatal period?
A: Yes. Life-Space Probiotic for Pregnancy & Breastfeeding is formulated specifically for pregnant and breastfeeding women to support general health and wellbeing.

Q: How many strains of bacteria are in Life-Space Probiotics?
A: There are up to 15 different strains of beneficial bacteria in Life-Space Probiotics.

Q: Probiotic count diminishes over time and so your product is not accurate to the label. Could you please tell me how your probiotics retain their colony count over time?
A: Probiotics do diminish over time so to ensure Life-Space probiotics stay viable until the expiry date, we add an overage of bacteria to allow for a natural decline over time. Additionally, we use packaging that will support probiotics to stay unrefrigerated until expiry (or 3 months after opening).

Q: Do Life-Space Probiotics meet Kosher and/or Halal certifications?
A: Life-Space probiotics are naturally sourced and are suitable for vegetarians, however Life-Space products are not Kosher or Halal certified.

Q: What is the difference between ‘no added’ and ‘free from’?
A: The term ‘free from’ indicates that the product has undergone analytical testing to confirm the complete absence of the stated allergens. The term ‘no added’ specifies that the allergen has not been added during the manufacturing process of the product. However, the product has not been analytically tested to confirm the complete absence of the stated allergen.

Unless a label specifically states, ‘free from’, we advise that you contact our customer care team before commencing supplementation to confirm the absence of stated allergens: info@evolutionhealth.com.au

Q: Why does it say “No Added Dairy” on some of your probiotics and not dairy free? Is there dairy in these products or not?
A: We currently have not conducted allergy testing to confirm that Life-Space probiotics are completely free from dairy.

‘No added dairy’ indicates that there is no dairy used in the manufacture of the product. However, we do not have allergy testing to confirm the complete absence of dairy in the finished product. Therefore we do not state ‘Free from dairy’ on the bottle.

Due to the nature and severity of allergic-type reactions to dairy milk protein, we do advise that you avoid using the product if you have a known ‘allergy to dairy’ (due to insufficient allergy information).

Q: Can I halve the dose of the Life-Space Probiotic Powder for Children and use it for my baby?
A: It is advised to stay within the age range recommended on each product’s label. Probiotic Powder for Children is recommended for children aged 3-12 years old however Life-Space have a Probiotic Powder for Baby for children aged 6 months-3 years.

Q: Can I give my 11 year old the Broad Spectrum Probiotic capsules?
A: Life-Space Broad Spectrum Probiotic is indicated for adults or children over 12 years old. It is recommended to stay within the age range as indicated on the Life-Space Probiotics. Please consult your Healthcare Professional if you require further advice.

Q: Once opened, are the probiotics still viable after 3 months?
A: Once opened, it is recommended to consume the contents within 3 months. We do not recommend continuing consumption of our probiotics 3 months after opening.

Q: How do I mix the powder more effectively? Why is the powder clumping together whilst mixing?
A: The crystalizing or clumping of the powders occurs due to the added pre-biotic fibre; Polydextrose.

To improve the solubility:

– mix powder with warm water (around 20 degrees Celsius)
– sprinkle along the surface of the water while stirring continuously with a spoon.

Please note that the powder may take up to 1 minute of stirring to dissolve.

Q: Why do the probiotic capsules have a smell?
A: The smell of the probiotic is the natural smell of the probiotic organisms, polydextrose and cellulose based capsules.

Q: What is the small canister in the probiotic jar for?
A: The canister is the desiccant. The desiccant attracts moisture and is used to preserve the probiotic formulations. Please leave the desiccant in the jar.
